Our Fall Wedding

We just got our "official" wedding pictures from our photographer Melody Hood, who did a great job capturing our wedding day. There are about 1,000 pics...so here are just a few.
Rich and I decided to see each other before the ceremony. I would highly recommend this even though this is not the traditional order of things. We were able to spend some time alone before the ceremony and we got to take plenty of pictures together and not feel rushed because our guests were waiting.

Here are my wonderful bridemaids! From left to right, Marissa, who got married one month before me which was such a blessing because we were able to plan our weddings together! Next is my little sis Chloe, who literally got me in and out of my wedding dress like 50 times... she is such a doll! Cherish, poor thing, she had to listen Marissa and I talk about all things wedding for six months anytime we were together. Since we have been friends since six grade I also had no reservations about sending her out on all kinds of errands...sorry if I was a little bossy ol'chap! Last but not least is Rebecca my new sister-in-law! Rebecca was such a calming presence through out the whole process and always told me it was going to be okay...and it was!

Rich and his dashing groomsmen

One thing that I absolutely loved was the way all the flowers and the boutonnieres turned out! I am going to do a detail post about them.

The Barn at Laurelwood

Kim C. put these arrangements together using greenery and berries gathered from the gardens

The centerpieces to be described in detail later

We spend weeks gathering nuts...

Mom and I picked up this little chalkboard at a yard sale and was the perfect place to thank people for coming to celebrate with us.

The Treehouse monogrammed pumpkins for us.

Rich chose pies instead of a grooms cake; we had peach, pumpkin, and pecan.

The cake and pies were done by the Cake Boutique. I wanted something that didn't look fussy and absolutely no fondant... We chose a butter cream vanilla almond flavored icing and alternated layers of vanilla and chocolate cake. We wrapped grape vine around the bottom of the cake to cover up the cake stand.

I hope to do a couple more specific posts about the wedding, I just have soo many pictures!

Baskets

Baskets are a easy way to add more storage to any space.

I recently bought a big basket to put in my living room for all the throw blankets I have,
I think it looks pretty good and servers a purpose, perfect!
Baskets in the bathroom to house all those toiletries

In the linen closet.....

Just because it looks good....

I love love love this basket that was made into a great coffee table just by adding some casters and a piece of cut glass...so cute!

Great for all those magazines we don't have the heart to part with.

Put A Branch In It!

This is always my solution! If I am rearranging my vignettes and they seem to be missing something or I have a particularly large space to fill I always grab a cute vase and some fallen branches from the front yard and nine time out of ten it is just what I needed to make everything come together...and at no cost!
This is my current use of branches...

Snow Day

My day started at 3:30 AM this morning...so please don't judge the fact that I have already finished a whole pot of coffee! Why up so early? Well Rich got up to check on the weather and reported back SNOW! So of course since snow here in Chattanooga is so rare I had to get up and take a peek. Then naturally the question arose, do I go to work or not? After a couple phone calls I got the good news, no work! Unfortunately, Rich had to go in so I made him a "workin man's" breakfast and sent him on his way, with strict instructions to call as soon as he made it. He arrived safely! With Rich at work and no place to go I started cleaning... It is now 11:00 AM and my whole house is spotless...it really is amazing what you can get done when you wake up early! Right now I am taking a little break looking at the February issue of Country Living Magazine, below are a couple pictures, I love all the "neutrals". Well I'm off to re-organize our closet!

Coupons?

I have never used a coupon at the grocery store in my life. I have thought about using them and even clipped some out but I always forget I have them or they never make if off my desk into my purse... But after watching TLC's Extreme Couponing, I am inspired! The ladies on this show are pretty extreme...a $638.64 grocery bill going down to $2.64....wow! I doubt I will have that much luck, but I am excited to see how much I can save! I am currently taking tips from The Krazy Coupon Lady. I will let you know how my couponing goes!
