Weekend Finds

What a day!  Cherish and I hit up several thrift stores today on a mission to find some bargains for her new apartment.
This would have made a nice TV cabinet but not quite big enough for Cherish's TV.

I have been thinking about replacing my rectangle table in the kitchen for a round one.  I really liked this one but there was no price tag and I was to lazy to go find someone, so with my luck when I go back on Monday it will be gone!
I still get very excited over stacks of dishes.
However, I get more excited over the sight of boots!  Every time I go a thrift store I always browse the shoe section in hopes that I might find a good pair of vintage boots, over the years I have found several but never my size.  Today I hit the jack pot...cute boots in my size for $6.88!
After all the hoopla over my new boots we came across this little dresser.  It needs some paint and new handles but after we are done it will be Cherish's new TV stand.  We are going to remove the mirror and hope to use it somewhere in her new place.
At $35.00 we had to get it!
 Cute desk
Cherish's next find of the day was this table and chairs.  It to needs a coat of paint and some TLC, but once we are done I think it will be really cute.
This is what I came home with...an ironstone platter, my first trophy cup, and boots!

First Place

My best friend Cherish just got a great job in Atlanta working as a nurse!  This means I get to help her decorate her new apartment!  This will officially be her first place and she is very excited to make it a inviting and cozy space.  We are starting in the living room and are going with purple!  Here are some of our "inspiration rooms", I love that she chose purple!

Book Club

I am not a big reader at all.  But I thought it would be fun to start a book club and I will be honest, I liked the idea of the social aspect of it more then the reading part!  We have met 3 times and completed two books so far and it has been great; I highly recommend it!  The first book we read was The Hunger Games it was so good, I had to read the other two in the series but they definitely can stand alone if you are not up for reading the whole series.  I can't even explain what the series is about you just have to read it!

Sarha's Key is the second book we read.  It takes place in occupied France during the 1940's and follows a little girls journey during the Holocaust.  It will make you tear up!

Our current book is the Lace Reader, which I still have not read...I have to get busy!

So all this to say that when it is my turn to choose I am going with Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin.  I think it is time for something light and fun and there is a movie with a fantastic cast!
