Outdoor Entertaining

~Tips For Outdoor Entertaining~

---Think simple foods such as grilled chicken, potato salad, and fresh veggies
---Set up a buffet which allows guest to make their plates easily
---I love using real dishes all the time but don't feel like you have to use them when you entertain outdoors. You can use paper or plastic dishes if you want, the options theses days for paper and plastic are endless....Target always has cute options for the outdoors.
---Keep pesky flies and other pests away by spraying your yard with "yard guard" two hours prior to your event and light lots of citronella candles
---Add some fresh flowers to your table. These flowers do not have to be a expensive arrangements from a florist but can be from your local grocery store, put them in a interesting container, or brake the bouquet up into several smaller ones for a bigger impact. You might even cut some flowering branches from your yard and put them in old wine bottles...I am obsessed with branches....
---Mix and Match your linens with your tableware, have fun and put things together that you normally wouldn't
---Have a basket of blankets and wraps for guest to wrap up in when the sun goes down

Good Night!

I have been in Houston, TX all week for work, and I am soo ready to sleep in my own bed... It is the only place that I can really get a good nights sleep. Even when I was little I would avoid sleep overs because I hated sleeping in strange beds or on the floor... need my sleep!

White Living

I love all of these white living rooms they have such a clean and airy feeling. If I though I could keep a white sofa clean I would get one....but I don't think that is going to happen!

Organic

Okay so about a week or so ago Rich and I went to the store to buy ingredients for this yummy bread pudding that he makes. The recipe calls for eggs so Rich grabs these four dollar organic brown eggs and I said what are you doing? I am not about to pay four dollars for eggs! We stood in front of the eggs and Rich proceeded to explain to me these eggs were going to be so good and healthy for us.....so I just said put them in the buggy! He made the bread pudding, and I could not tell that it had the most expensive eggs I have ever bought in it..... But this morning I used them to make scrabbled eggs and oh my goodness they were the best eggs I have ever eaten...so worth the four dollars! But I think I want my own chickens now....

My chickens will live in this adorable coop!

Chalkboard Paint

I really want to paint something with chalk board paint...

The idea of painting everyday objects and writing messages on them is appealing.

I like how they painted the wall behind these shelves in the kitchen as a accent wall and a great place to write notes and TO DO lists!

I don't know that I would go this far...by painting a border around my dining room but it does look good in this room.

Man Room

We are going to make the back bedroom Rich's "man room" because he will need a place to go when I am watching all of the reality TV shows he despises... Here are a few things I think he needs for his new space. I love everything in this montage...hopefully Rich will too!
