Christmas

This is as festive as it got at my house for Christmas.  I usually put out tons of Christmas decorations but since I am trying to pack this is all I could muster.

Richard's family came over on Friday and Rebecca made all the ladies button letters!  LOVE!

We dinned on beans and greens!  So delish!

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my family.

My aunt and uncle got my parents the cutest garden snail made out of recycled metal.

Christmas Morning!

Breakfast was cranberry/sausage quiche,Swiss and ham rolls, homemade sticky buns, and fruit salad.

With all this time off you can bet that I have kept my helpers busy!  Christopher and Chloe have been painting trim and we are almost done.

Rich has been working hard on the bathroom.  We are going to try and have the tile laid right after the new year if I can ever get it on order...

I want to use porcelain tile that looks like Carrara marble.  I am going with porcelain because it is more durable and not as porous as marble.

We are going to put a 12 x 12 on the bathroom floor.

On the shower floor I am going with a 1" hexagon.  This will also be used as a accent in the shower shelves that we are putting in.

Michelle's bathroom over at Ten June was my inspiration!  We are going with the 3" x 6" subway tiles for the shower walls just like Michelle.

Love love her grey vanity!  Not sure what color I am going to paint mine just yet, but this grey is looking good ;)

Well hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready for the new year!  I am hoping to just enjoy 2012.  2010 was all about the wedding and now 2011 we have been working on the house non stop...I am ready to just enjoy 2012 without any huge projects!

Hustle and Bustle

Wow..I feel like I have been going non stop!  We have been caulking/painting the crown and base boards at the house and Rich is working on patching the holes in the master bathroom ceiling.  Things are looking good at Twin Brook...but I am so ready to be moved in!

Between packing and working on the house I have not put up one single Christmas decoration and I just started my shopping :{  I was at the Targe' tonight and there was a older couple in front of me grabbing their buggy and the man said to the lady, " Am I supposed to get lost?" and the lady said "No, I need your help this time."  So funny....  Anyway I hope all of you are enjoying the hustle and bustle of the season!  P.S. It is 11:48 I have been cleaning, washing, and packing and now I am watching Jay Leno... I am usually in bed by 9:30!

Progressive Dinner

Country Christmas!
Mom hosted her Sunday School's progressive dinner and was responsible for the salad.  Chloe, Christopher and I helped and had so much fun!  We served as guests arrived, allowing everyone to mingle...  Serving was a breeze because we did not have to worry about chatting with guests.  We were able to do our job and get out until it was time for clean up.  Here are a couple pictures!  I used my phone camera for some, sorry if they are blurry.

Coming Along

It is amazing how things are starting to come together so fast!  All of the new doors have been installed and I am so glad to add a little light to the foyer, and get rid of the flowers that were on the previous front doors.

These are the new French doors that are in the breakfast area.  Rich purchased these from a salvage place and got a really good deal.  However, they told him they were 36" doors but they are actually 33 1/2" doors... 3 1/2" too small....I was beside myself!  But all my worrying was for nothing.  Rich and his handy friends were able to make them work and they still look good.  Crisis averted...

The crown and base boards are up and look great!  Chloe and I worked on filling nail holes and we also started caulking.  I will say that I since we have popcorn ceilings I was very nervous about caulking the crown but it is not a big deal at all!  Thank goodness!

These "scooters" came in handy as we rolled around filling nail holes and caulking the base boards.  During our break we preformed a "scooter" dance...lol.
