Happenings

The exterior painting saga continues...  I started second guessing my choice of Dovetail Gary a couple weeks again and went back to Sherwin Williams to re-evaluate.  I came home with a darker gray and have decided that it is way too dark and we will for sure be going with Dovetail.  So that settles that.  Now to find a painter.  I have gotten two quotes so far and the difference between them was huge.  I called the painter who had the less expensive of the two quotes to come back and go over everything...well turns out he did not understand that I actually want the brick painted in addition to all the trim...thus the price difference!  So we are still waiting on his revised quote along with one other painter.  I have gotten the same reaction each time I say I want the brick painted, "you what...why would you want to do that?"  Well because my house is practically orange, all I need to do is paint a big with "T" on the roof and you have the headquarters for the Tennessee Vols!  I am exaggerating a little...but it is pretty orange.

I scored this wonderful round wicker table a couple weekends ago when I was out junkin with my mom.  I think it fits perfect between my two occasional chairs in the living room.  Don't you love the chippy white paint!

I have been eating well thanks to Rich.  He is the best cook!  We are so excited for all the fresh summer veggies that will soon be coming in.

Besides eating...I helped a friend with her little sister's wedding shower and it turned out so cute.  For her wedding she is doing a lot of burlap and lace which I love.  Here are a few pics from the shower.

This was a great idea thought of by one of the bridesmaids.  You take a popsicle stick and write a fun date night idea on it for the couple.

The cake not only looked great but tasted great as well.  I love the design!

Chic Barn Wedding!

Congratulations to my cousin Annie and her new husband Nick!
Last weekend we packed up the mini van and headed to Oklahoma.
Out of all the weddings I have been to this wedding was the most fun, laid back, and beautiful!

Here are a few pic from the wedding!

I the reception was inside/outside of the gorgeous old barn.  There were many things I loved about this wedding the A & N being just one of them,

Annie has this gold glitter sign made to direct guests.

The tables set up outside the barn were covered with candles in old Ball jars and  flower arrangements.

As guest arrived there were given a mini bottle of champagne complete with a pink straw!

During the wedding guest were server cocktails from this cute bar.

Guest enjoyed a cocktail hour before the wedding ceremony began.  Chloe and I loved the mini grill cheese sandwich and tomato soup which was served in a tiny coffee cup!

The Mr. & Mrs!

The reception menu consisted of meat balls, creamy mac and cheese, mash potatoes with all the fixin's, and ceasar salad.

In place of a traditional wedding cake guest were severed individual deserts.

The cake pops were my fave, but I love the gold dust on the macaroons!

 Ahh paparazzi!

The inside of the barn was as cute as the outside!  The color scheme of the wedding was champagne, white, and pink.  I love the mix of rustic, chic, and PINK!  The night was memorable and we all had a great time cerebrating the sweet couple!

Wedding Season

Wedding season is in full swing!  Rich and I went to a super cute and rustic wedding last weekend.

The long gravel drive reminded us of our own wedding.

The whole wedding was held outdoors on a lovey piece of property called The Last Frontier.

Instead of a traditional guestbook, guests could write a message to the bride and groom on a wooden heart.

The actual ceremony took place on the this pier overlooking the lake.

After the ceremony we walked up the hill to the reception.

The food was cooked on site!

There were strands of lights throughout the tent along with these cute mason jar chandeliers.

The decorations on the tables were all different and very simple.

The tables with flowers were my favorite.

Loving this monogrammed birch paper vase!

This was the view from inside the tent.

Groom's Cake

Wedding Cakes

Now to what I think was the best part...the food!  Pulled pork, bakes beans, smoked green beans, mac and cheese, mash potatoes, sweet coleslaw, and a corn muffin.  The food was cooked on site by a company called Smoked.  I can not tell you how good it was.  This was probably the best pulled pork plate I have ever eaten and I have eaten a lot!

Aren't these chairs so sweet?

There were personal touches all around.

Congratulations to Marshall and Ashlee!
