Weekend Happenings
Our Thanksgiving weekend was fun and productive.
Thanksgiving day was laid back, eating good food, and enjoying the company of friends and family as well as celebrating Chloe's 14th birthday!
She is such a sweetheart!
On Friday night we went down town for the grand illumination and enjoyed the boat parade.
Between me and my mother-in-law all the crown got one coat of paint before it is installed.
This is not all of it...more in the other room! Working with 16 foot pieces you run out of room really fast.
Rich worked on installing drywall in the master bath. I love that he enjoys getting his hands dirty and doing the work himself.
I have started packing the things that are not needed for everyday life and that would be just about everything in my house! I have so many dishes, nick-knacks, table cloths...and the list goes on. I am amazed that I moved in this house five years ago and it was sparsely furnished and now every room is full and every closet is busting at the seams. Makes me want to move to NYC where you have limited space and must only keep the things that are most important to you.
While packing, to keep my energy up I snacked on one of my favorite Christmas treats! Still shooting for December 22nd for move in!

8 to 8
What a day, so much got accomplished! Thank goodness Mom kept us energized with some yummy chicken casserole.
Most of the day's activity took place in the master bathroom which used to look like this...
The layout was like a maze and the tile color not so hot.
The walls have been taken down/stripped, and moved around! The layout is much more open and easy to navigate now.
"Phillips Plumbing" paid us a visit and got the toilet moved as well as a double vanity plumb with no leaks! Sorry the picture is blurry (it was taken on my cell phone) but these are the Phillip's hard at work ;)
Chloe and Rich's art project....soo cute!.....
I ordered new front doors on Friday.
Even though I love flowers I can not wait to have them off my front doors.
So, like I said, this weekend has been such a success! Trim got painted, new drywall got hung, master bath plumbed!

Weekend Happenings
I spent the weekend at my parents house while Rich was away on a camping trip. Chloe made me blueberry pancakes! Yum!
While flipping through Real Simple magazine I found something to add to my Christmas list....a giant cardboard castle you can color! Just kidding but I would have loved this as a kid!
When Rich got home he started work on the shower. The tile man said we should start fresh and go ahead and rip down the old shower so we have... I have got to start making some decisions about what tile I want to go back with.
Some remnants we found behind the wall of the original shower tile from the 70's, I like these flowers a lot better then the plain peach tile they used to "update" with.
I started white washing the pine paneling. This is not a very good picture. The panneling is not that white in person. Rich however, thinks it needs to be darker... I am going to apply one coat to the whole wall and then we will see.
This weekend we are installing exterior doors, painting trim, and plumbing the master bath. Move in day is December 22! Ha at least that is what I am hoping!

Master Bath Vanity
The time has finally come for me to start making some more decisions.... The master bathroom demo is in full swing, and I need to figure out what type of vanity to put in. I know for sure we are going with a double vanity or two separate sinks. It is a must!
I really like this center cabinet that separates these two vanities and especially love how the top is glass.
This double vanity is so pretty. I love how it is on legs making it look more like a piece of furniture rather then a typical cabinet unit.
I hate having a lot of "junk" on any counter space whether is be in the kitchen or bathroom, so this pedestal sink option is appealing, but in the long run proably not practical.
One thing I do know, is that I am going to with a stained finish on the cabinets. I like the idea of finding a pair of dresers or a old buffet and converting it into a vanity.
P.S. I hate the time change......

What We Have Been Up To
We pulled up all the knockout roses in the front the house, they were looking pretty scraggly.
Trim painting continues...I have wonderful helpers ;)
When we started the reno we thought we were going to put off updating the master bath, but demo is in full swing.
The "guy" side of the master bath, demo in process.
These studs are coming down which will give is alot more room for a double vanity.
This is our 20 person shower...it really is huge! After meeting with the tile man, he advised that all the tile will need to come down and we will start fresh. I better start looking at some tile.
