Since I got off work early in honor of the 4th of July weekend I made plans for a cozy night in.
Since we have an abundance of basil I decided to make some fresh pesto.
I also picked some zucchini. I am so glad it is summer and our little garden is providing for us.
My Zinnias are finally up!
I planted big ones as well as these cute pom poms!

Homemade pesto, so easy!
I ended up making a chicken casserole, roasted zucchini topped with pesto ( I know that sounds weird, but it is really good), and a tomato mozzarella salad.
Our dinner was accompanied by Secretariat which is based on a true story, and Diane Lane is so cute in it!
